The high volume low speed (HVLS) fans provide long term incremental power savings. Typically for an area of around 20-25 thousand square feet, around 25 normal sized fans would be required. Assuming that each fan has a motor of 0.75 HP, the total power consumption would be to the tune of 18 HP per hour. Comparing it with the 2 HP motor of these fans, one can easily discern the power savings accorded by HVLS fans.
